Invitations have been sent to stakeholders regarding the Minister’s media launch of the 2020 National List of Occupations in High Demand
Dr BE Nzimande, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, has extended an invitation to the media, stakeholders and the public, to attend this virtual event due to take place on Thursday, 26 November 2020, between 10h00-12h00. The purpose of this media briefing is to ensure that the 2020 National List of Occupations in High Demand is shared widely with the public. The event also provides a platform for engagement with a wide range of stakeholders on background information pertaining to development of the OIHD list.
Information about occupations in high demand provides useful insights into the skills needs of the economy and society, especially in a context where the South African labour market is characterised by high levels of unemployment on the one hand, and skills shortages, on the other.
Please note that in order to adhere to Covid-19 precautions, in-person attendance at the event is severely limited.
