Abstract
The analysis of labour force characteristics provides crucial insights into the formulation and monitoring of policy measures aimed at boosting skills development and job creation. As underscored by the ILO, information, knowledge and insights into the labour force enables policy makers to engage in informed policy dialogues on employment and skills development policy, make informed decisions in setting national employment and skills development targets, and evaluate the costs and benefits of policies, measures and programmes aimed at improving employment and skills levels in an economy.
